Local scare the pants off you metallers Death Came Down the Mountain and Black Skies are joined by Wilmington, NC's Rural Swine and another band called Skull Buckle, who apparently do not have any sort of website, are at the Local 506 tonight. I'm pretty sure you will not have to wear deodorant, but maybe a condom just to be extra careful.
Throwing the goat is not optional; it's mandatory.

The Geer is Coming!!
Nice to see that Durham is adding another music venue. With The Pinhook and Broad Street already cemented, I'm sure there is still room for more. I know I look forward to it.
With Fullsteam also coming around the corner, it looks like downtown Durham is starting to hit a stride. Granted, I've heard rumors that Fullsteam might have hit a financial snag, but judging from their website, all seems to be heading in the right direction towards completion.

King Me!!
You've probably already heard, but Kings Barcade will be reopening this year. Thank the rock gods...

Hopped Off the Tracks IPA
The freshly pulled pint had a nice amber to caramel color with a healthy head and minimal piney aroma. The first sip (er - gulp) of the beer left me wanting for a bit more. It resembling something a little more along the style of an american ESB than an IPA. The bittering hops used in the brew was in the range of an IPA but the sweet balance you would expect had been replaced by a malty backbone. All that being said it was a tasty beer... just don't expect your typically styled IPA.
Rating: In a 5 beer session, I would happily drink 2 1/2 of these babies.
