Like clockwork, the fall season offers up a bevy of opportunities to see lots of shows in the area. We all know about Hopscotch, of course. The second installment has something for everyone with The Flaming Lips, Guided By Voices, Future Islands, Lost in Trees, Black Lips and many more. Go get a ticket.
Other groups hitting the area incluse Fleet Foxes, Wilco, Okkervil River, Artic Monkeys, Cut Copy, Ray LaMontagne, boris, Tapes N Tapes, Starfucker, Atari Teenage Riot, Cymbals Eat Guitars, The Sea and Cake, George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars, the Hold Steady (August) and the reunited Archers of Loaf (2 shows sold out at Cat's Cradle in August).
Be on the look out for me to FINALLY update the calender soon. I promise. Seriously. Why am I being such a lazy ass?
And if you actually give a shizzzz, college football is also on deck. The Heels have a cloud of controversy hanging over the start of their season and the Wolfpack are beginning LAR - Life After Russell. Regardless, its football and that's a good thing. The NFL are being a bunch of babies anyways and totally ruining my fantasy strategy. Don't they know my 'squeak into the playoffs' ways is in jeopardy?!?!
On the basketball front, bad news befell the Heels with the news that top 3-point shooter, Leslie McDonald, tore his ACL in the pro-am games this week and will be out indefinitely. SONOFABITCH!!!!
