Dan Gilbert is an asshole

So, LeBron got a lot of shit from mainstream journalists about how he was ego tripping by holding a primetime special to announce his decision. They also threw in anecdotes from unnamed sources alleging that LeBron and his entourage were annoying children. They smeared his ass but good. And I didn't really mind, because he's seemed somewhat selfish to me too.

But in the interview where he announced his decision to move to South Beach, LeBron said it wasn't about money or the spotlight. He was going somewhere he felt would give him an increased opportunity to excel, and would present him with a new way to expand his professional skill set. It's like he got his undergraduate, master's and Ph.D. from the same school and now he's going to work for a company where his esteemed colleagues are, on a project he'll love.

He wished his home city good fortune, and thanked them for the opportunity they gave him. But the owner of the Cavs issued an open letter to everyone saying that LeBron had betrayed him, like he owned him or something. Gilbert says that LeBron should die to get his freedom and that by leaving, LeBron "sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn." Not my kids, fucko!
